In 1996, Laura Ferraro Crosti, wife of Renato Crosti, founder of MERIDIANI, had a simple yet passionate idea: a new home collection characterised by a recognisable lifestyle, timeless yet always up-to-date, on-trend but with deep roots to the past. After expert research the first collection was born in Spring of the same year.

Entirely manufactured in Italy thanks to the existing industrial facilities owned by the family, the collection was the result of the enthusiasm and collaboration between Laura and the designer Andrea Parisio, the brand's Art Director. In the same year the collection was shown in the first atelier in Milan together with a rich textile range – a distinguishing feature of the brand since its beginnings.

The excellent feedback received by industry insiders and customers led naturally, in 2000, to the creation and promotion of the first official collection under the name Meridiani. In 2016 the company joined IDB - Italian Design Brands S.p.A. - with the aim of strengthening the brand's already important presence on international markets and developing synergies in innovative areas through digital transformation processes, shared commercial strategies and new distribution channels.
