Abet Laminati, world leading manufacturer of decorative laminates with the unique technical as well as aesthetic qualities, is attending the fourth edition of the Dubai Design Week from 12 to 17 November, with an installation designed by Paola Navone, the designer the company has been collaborating with for over thirty years and who is its art director today.

The 2018 edition is going to be the most comprehensive to date with over 120 companies that have accepted to attend and more than 230 events including exhibitions, installations, design awards, talks and workshops. An event that is becoming more and more important among the international design events and that this year sees Abet Laminati collaborating with Paola Navone. With her ironic and symbolic language, the Italian designer can interpret the materials and textures of the company from Bra (in Piedmont, Italy) perfectly.

Paola Navone composed an imaginative 3D jigsaw puzzle of stacking boxes in laminate in different sizes characterized by delicate baroque motifs, unexpected tartan geometries, stripes and dots multiplied thousands of times with a cheerful optical effect and featuring giant flowers inspired by oriental printing, all in black and white.  This large jigsaw puzzle reveals itself to be an oversized gate for all visitors of the Dubai Design Week.

Dubai Design Week 2018 will host an extensive range of talks and panel discussion. On 16 November from 4.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. the Main Stage (Building 4, Atrium) will see Paola Navone in conversation with Editor-in-Chief of Architectural Digest Middle East, Talib Choudhry, in celebration of her extensive work, the collaborations with some of the most important design brands and the evolution of a long-lasting career.
