For the September edition of MAISON&OBJET Paris, Paola Navone has designed for Abet Laminati a booth that highlights the unique characteristics of Polaris, one of the company’s most appreciated surfaces stemming from its ongoing stylistic and technical research.

Abet Laminati’s booth is part of Materials Village, the platform created by Material Connexion Italia and dedicated to materials, new technologies and sustainability and will showcase the company’s most innovative products. Materials Village with Abet Laminati are at Hall 8 in the Projets section: this is a special area which during MAISON&OBJET Paris in September gathers those brands specifically intended for the building sector.

Paola Navone’s booth will highlight Polaris, a durable and yet velvety to the touch surface which is anti-fingerprint and resistant to scratches as well as being perfect to be used in kitchens. The setting reminds us of some of the latest important events by Abet Laminati where Polaris was the main attraction. Here is the table used for the Dinner on Stage at the Teatro dell’Arte in Triennale during Fuorisalone in 2016, while the cake stands were created specifically for the exhibition An Imaginary City curated by Paola Navone for Abet Laminati’s 60 years and presented at the Triennale di Milano during this year’s Milano Design Week.

The combination between smoothness and durability gives Polaris a futuristic appeal making it perfect for ultra contemporary projects and an important reference for professionals who are going to the Paris fair.

For the first Paris edition, Materials Village will also host the installation Atelier Italien, which will highlight materials and surfaces, among which a selection of Abet laminates, all interpreted by Studio Marco Piva to enhance their technical, decorative as well as functional features. Marco Piva explained what inspired him in creating the exhibition Atelier Italien: “the strength of the project stems from the creative dialogue that has been established between my Studio and the companies: as in an atelier, the synergy between architect and company, creative outreach and maniacal tailoring, unique possibilities arise. The master is all Italian, the result is ready to face the World".
